On arrival at Dick White Referrals, one of our friendly Reception Team will be pleased to welcome you. Your veterinary surgeon may have sent some information in advance of your visit or have asked you to bring this with you. Our Reception staff will need to take some details from you to prepare your pet's clinical file and details of your pet's insurance if applicable. We see patients from all over the United Kingdom and appreciate that you and your pet may have had a long journey in stressful circumstances. Our waiting area has comfortable seating and a range of relevant reading material. A tea and coffee machine is available for our clients' use.
At busy times, there may be a large number of animals in the reception area, many of whom may be disorientated and react unpredictably towards other animals, and we would ask that your pet is under your close control at all times with dogs on leads at all times and cats secure in a basket or carrier.
When a member of the Veterinary team looking after your pet has read through the notes from your own vet and examined any radiographs and laboratory results, you will be taken to a Consulting Room so that a thorough history can be taken and physical examination performed.
