Alberta De Stefani

DVM PhD DipECVN MRCVS

European Specialist in Veterinary Neurology & Neurosurgery

Honorary Associate Professor, University of Nottingham

Alberta joined the Neurology Service at DWR in 2013. She graduated in 2001 from the University of Padua, Italy. Following a period in general practice she moved to the UK and undertook a one-year Internship. Her interest in neurology started as an undergraduate student, but this developed to a real passion during the internship period. In 2003, she started a Residency Programme in Neurology and Neurosurgery, which concluded in 2007 when she became a European Specialist. She then worked as a Senior Clinical Neurologist and, in 2006, she successfully concluded a clinical PhD on ‘Treatment and Prognosis of Canine Primary Brain Tumours’. She presents regularly at national and international veterinary conferences and her main areas of interest include pathogenesis, diagnosis and treatment of seizures in the canine and feline species and surgical treatment of spinal conditions.
