European and RCVS-Recognised Specialist in Small Animal Surgery (Orthopaedics)
Andrea graduated from the University of Pisa, Italy, in 1995. After 15 months as a Veterinary Officer in the Italian Army, he returned to the University and undertook a 3-year clinical PhD in Orthopaedics and Neurosurgery.
After several years in general practice, Andrea moved to the UK in 2006 and obtained the RCVS Certificate in Small Animal Surgery in 2010. He then undertook a 3-year ECVS training programme in Small Animal Surgery and moved to the University of Liverpool in 2014 as a Lecturer in Small Animal Orthopaedics. Andrea became a Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Surgeons in 2015 and joined DWR in 2016. He is interested in all aspects of orthopaedics, particularly canine cruciate disease, canine elbow disorders, feline orthopaedics and traumatology.Email Andrea Pratesi
