Matthew graduated from the Royal Veterinary College, University of London in 2011. Since then he has worked in first opinion, charity, academic and private referral practice and developed a strong interest in surgery. In 2016 he undertook a one year rotating small animal internship at the Royal Veterinary Colleges Queen Mother Hospital for Animals. In 2018 Matthew passed the BSAVA Certificate in Small Animal Surgery with distinction.

Matthew completed an ECVS residency in small animal surgery at Anderson Moores Veterinary Specialists in 2021, passing the board exam in February 2022.

Matthew is interested in all aspects of surgery but especially minimising the impact of surgical intervention on patient welfare, surgical management of trauma patients, arthroscopy, correction of angular limb deformity and elective joint surgery including total joint replacement.
