As our clinic has expanded and developed over the years, the number of operating theatres required to meet the needs of our caseload has grown from two to five – accommodating soft tissue, orthopaedic, ophthalmology and neurosurgery.

Thanks to the investment available since our recent shared venture agreement with the Pets At Home Vet Group, we are now able to undertake a complete £100,000 refurbishment of our original two theatres which were installed when we opened in 2003. Work has been underway since the beginning of the year and is scheduled for completion by the end of January. The new facilities will include state-of-the-art lighting with integrated video recording equipment to enhance our provision of continuing education. Upon completion, the upgraded theatres will be used by our Head of Soft Tissue Surgery, Jackie Demetriou, and her team of four surgeons. They will be performing in the region of 1,000 per surgeries per year, ranging from upper and lower airway surgery and minimally invasive procedures to removal of tumours in complex oncology cases.

Theatre 3 will continue to be used by our 3 Neurosurgeons and 3 Ophthalmology Surgeons, led by Giunio Bruto Cherubini and Claudia Busse, respectively; and the two new theatres built last year, Theatres 4 and 5, will be used by our Orthopaedics Team headed by Mark Bush.
