An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and enthusiastic qualified Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our Ophthalmology Nursing Team, working in our busy, purpose-built hospital that is fully equipped with the surgical equipment and diagnostic facilities commensurate with a flagship specialist veterinary centre. The role of the Ophthalmology Nurse is highly involved in all aspects of nursing various ophthalmic conditions including corneal ulcers, glaucoma, cataracts and orbital and eyelid diseases. The role also includes assisting the ophthalmologists with patient examinations and minor ophthalmic procedures. This is a very rewarding role, within which you can expect daily opportunities to learn and develop your knowledge and experience skillset.
The successful candidate will have excellent all-round nursing skills, with a passion and drive for delivering outstanding client and patient care. They will be a team player who enjoys working in a supportive working environment whilst also being able to use their initiative and challenge the status quo. Referral nursing experience is not necessary as full training will be provided.
This is a full-time position, working 40 hours a week, on 8-hour shifts, including a 1:5 weekend rota in wards with compensated time off and paid overtime.
