ULTRASOUND ASSISTANT

 
 

We are currently seeking an Ultrasound Assistant to provide excellent animal care by assisting with ultrasound scans in line with appropriate standard operating procedures and policies. Duties include:

  • Organising the patient flow in ultrasound by liaising with specialists and nurses as required;
  • Preparing for scans by clipping patients and recording patient information;
  • Holding animals during the ultrasound;
  • Submitting laboratory forms;
  • Maintaining consumables, stock and equipment;
  • Maintaining accurate clinical records;
  • Pricing ultrasound cases;
  • Maintaining cleanlesness and tidyness of ultrasound areas
  • Understanding and implementing SOPs;
  • Undertaking continuing professional and personal development associated with the role;\
  • Assisting colleagues and other departments as required;\
  • Adhering to health and safety policies;
  • Carrying out any other reasonable duties within the overall function of the job.

Minimum requirements

Education

  • Essential
    • English speaking
    • GCSE English & Maths

Experience

  • Animal handling experience preferred

Skills & Knowledge

  • Essential
    • Highly organised with the ability to multitask
    • Confident, effective communicator who is able to build rapport quickly
    • Able to deal with multiple stakeholders at all levels
    • IT literate
    • Manage time and workload effectively
