Veterinary Anaesthetist

 
 

This is a fixed term post for one year starting in January 2017 to cover maternity leave. Ideally it is a full time position although part-time may be considered.

Candidates must be MRCVS, or eligible to register with the RCVS, and ACVAA/ECVAA Diplomates or have completed a Residency in Veterinary Anaesthesia.

Caseload includes soft tissue surgery, minimally invasive and interventional procedures, orthopaedic surgery, neurosurgery, ophthalmic surgery and anaesthesia for advanced diagnostic procedures (MRI and CT on site).

Our state of the art facilities include modern anaesthesia workstations with comprehensive haemodynamic/ventilatory monitoring, a dedicated ultrasound machine to perform peripheral nerve blocks, non-invasive cardiac output monitoring and a multidisciplinary intensive care unit.

The current Anaesthesia Team consists of 5 senior anaesthetists (three of which are Dipl.ECVAA), 3 residents, one intern and 4 anaesthesia technicians/nurses. The successful candidate will join a team of 30 Specialists in various disciplines. . Anaesthetists participate in a 1:5 out of hours on call rota.

An attractive salary/benefit package is offered, depending on experience and qualifications. Due to the rapid expansion of the clinic, it is possible that a permanent position may become available at the end of the fixed term.
