Being acutely aware of the value of well trained veterinary nurses, nursing assistants and support staff we have recognised a need for a sustainable source of dedicated professional staff. Therefore, we have established the Dick White Academy, within our own premises, to provide first class training to those wishing to pursue a career in animal care.
Our courses will provide a combination of high quality teaching and exposure to a range of clinical facilities and experience. All students will have a Clinical Coach or Mentor to guide them through their study programmes and tutorial sessions will be used to discuss Individual Learning Plans.
Initially we will be offering a 10-month Level 2 Diploma Course for Veterinary Care Assistants and a 3-year Level 3 Diploma Course for Veterinary Nurses. Both courses will be run on a day release basis allowing students to study while continuing with their current employment.
Depending upon eligibility, The Academy may be able to arrange government funding via the Apprenticeship Scheme to assist with costs related to attending College.
