Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD) is a degenerative condition where spinal discs harden, weaken, or rupture, causing pain, nerve damage and often paralysis. In cases of severe pain or paralysis, surgery is needed to remove the damaged disc material and decompress the spinal cord.

- Initial consultation with a member of our Specialist-led Neurology team with emergency admission facilitated by our Specialist-led Emergency and Critical care team, if required
- An MRI scan of the affected area performed by our Specialist-led Diagnostic imaging team, if required
- The decompressive surgery itself, including a ventral slot or hemi-laminectomy, with general anaesthesia provided by our Specialist-led Anaesthesia team
- Up to 3 nights of hospitalisation with care provided by our 24-hour onsite vets and nurses
- Pre-operative bloods
- Medication
