About

Giacomo is an American, European, and RCVS Specialist in Emergency and Critical Care. He graduated from the University of Bologna and, following a period at the University of Pennsylvania, completed his Emergency and Critical Care training at the Royal Veterinary College, London. After working as a staff clinician with the University of Edinburgh, he started a research post with the UCL Bloomsbury Institute for Intensive Care Medicine working on mechanisms of sepsis. He joined DWR as an ECC consultant in 2020.

His areas of particular interest include clinical research, sepsis, haemodynamic monitoring and advanced life support. Giacomo is chair of the joint ECVECC & EVECCS scientific committee and is responsible for the scientific program of the annual EVECC Congress.
