Job Title: Maternity Cover Veterinary Radiography Nurse

The section of Diagnostic Imaging at DWR Veterinary Specialists, Veterinary Specialist Centre, Newmarket, Cambridgeshire, UK, is seeking to employ a full-time radiography nurse with a desire to work offering a high level of medical care to dogs and cats to cover a maternity leave starting from March 2022 for one year. We would also consider a part-time appointment of a minimum of 3 days a week.  

The position offers a registered veterinary nurse with an interest in imaging the opportunity for involvement in all types of imaging, including X-ray, MRI and CT.  

Team and facilities:  

Our Diagnostic Imaging team consists of 5 board-certified Radiologists, 3 Fellows, 3 Residents, 2 Interns and 5 Radiographers/radiography nurses/radiography assistants. The on-site imaging facilities include radiography (DR), fluoroscopy, 2 ultrasound suites, 0.4T MRI, and 16-slice MDCT. The last two are to be upgraded in the coming year by 1.5T MRI and 64-slice MDCT.

It has an excellent and varied caseload supported by rotating interns, residents, certified veterinary nurses, and 53 veterinary specialists including the following specialties: anatomical pathology, anaesthesia, cardiology, clinical pathology, emergency and critical care, dermatology, internal medicine, neurology, oncology, ophthalmology, orthopaedic surgery, and soft tissue surgery. 

Qualifications:  

You must be a registered veterinary nurse.  

Experience in small animal imaging is desirable; however, this is not essential, since training in small animal positioning and examination techniques will be provided.
